A Practical Guide to Choosing Sex Lubricant
Share
In the couple's sex, the most afraid of is the word "dry". One's dryness, two's pain.
Fortunately, there is a solution - use a sex lube, swipe it lightly, and it can enter smoothly and relieve the pain caused by dryness.
However, since it is applied to the fragile and private parts of the human body, there are always people who have this concern:
After using lube once, it felt like opening a door to a new world, and now I can't live without it, wiping it every time I have sex. But recently, the partner's private parts have been found to have inflammation. I don't know if it is the cause of the lube. Will it harm us if it is used too much?
Many people know very little about sex lube and have doubts. What exactly does a lube do? Is it really safe?
Lube is not only for middle-aged and elderly people
When women reach the age of menopause, they often experience vaginal dryness and pain, which causes some women to lose interest in sex life and even affect their relationship with their partners. There are also some women who are obviously still very young and far from menopause, but they also experience dryness. Why is this happening?
First and foremost, this is related to the secretion of estrogen levels. With age, the level of estrogen in women begins to decline, or even disappear, causing the reproductive tract and glands to shrink, resulting in reduced secretions and dryness.
Second, it is also related to psychological stress. High work pressure, discord between couples, etc., will all reflect on the body, resulting in reduced excitement, and causing discomfort such as dryness.
What does a lube do?
Queen's University in Canada published a study in the "The Journal of Sexual Medicine". Among a total of 424 female survey samples, 80% had used body lube, of which 74% were to "enhance their own experience", and 57% of them in order to "enhance each other's sexual experience".
The study also noted that lube was a boon for women suffering from pain, 81% of whom did it to "reduce pain."
Are lubricating oils harmful to the body?
Lubricants on the market are mainly divided into three types: water-based, silicone-based, and oil-based, each of which has its own advantages.
Water-based Lubricants
The main ingredients are water and glycerin.
Advantages: Good solubility and strong body acceptance; Can be used with condoms and sex toys; Easy to clean after use, no greasy feeling, and no allergies.
Disadvantages: The effect time is short, easy to volatilize, and absorbed by the skin. Generally, it has no effect in about 15 minutes. In the process of sex that lasts for a long time, it is necessary to continually replenish the effective amount.
Silicone-based Lubricants
The main ingredients are Cyclomethicone and dimethicone.
Advantages: lubricated and waterproof, and the effect time is longer.
Disadvantages: It will damage products of the same material, so it cannot be used with silicone sex toys at the same time, and it is more difficult to clean, easy to stain the sheets, and the price is slightly more expensive.
Oil-based Lubricants
The main ingredient is plant-based oils or synthetic oils.
Advantages: very long-lasting.
Disadvantages: It is difficult to clean, and there will be a greasy feeling after use; Cannot be used with latex products, such as condoms, which are easy to dissolve; It is not easy to decompose and clear in the vagina, which is easy to cause infection.
Whether it is harmful to the body mainly depends on which one you choose.
If oil-based lube is used, there is a risk of genital infection, so it is generally not recommended.
Of course, there is no need to worry too much. Due to the safety issues of oil-based lube, few manufacturers have produced them, and they have been slowly eliminated from the market.
How to use lube correctly?
The correct use of lube can satisfy both people. Please pay attention to the following points when using them:
⑴. Do not apply the lube directly. You should pour out a coin-sized amount in the palm of your hand, rub it open, and then apply it to the corresponding part.
⑵. Try not to choose lube with fragrance, there are many additives of this kind, which may cause allergies.
In addition, lube has a shelf life and cannot be used indefinitely. If you find that the lube has expired, you should clean it up and not use it again.
Everyone has normal physiological needs. For women, even if dryness occurs and affects normal life, there is no need to be discouraged and give up. You can use lube and other methods to improve symptoms and enjoy good sex again.
